Hitchcock" of 2,013 tons, badly ashore against the Kowloon Wharves, the Japanese Steamship "Chinkai Maru" of 1,564 tons, partially submerged near Kellett Island on which salvage operations were started but put back by another typhoon on the 29th September, and the German S. S. "Petrarch" of 1,252 tons also stranded against the Kowloon Wharves and much injured by collisions. The badly damaged stranded vessels that have been refloated include the Canadian Pacific Railway Steamship "Monteagle" of 3,953 tons of which the stern post and rudder were broken and the River Steamer "Fatshan" of 1,425 tons. The British Steamship "Strathmore" of 2,296 tons, the German Steamships "Prinz Waldemar" of 1,737 tons, "Chow Tai" of 1,115 tons and "Devawongse" of 1,057 tons all received serious injuries from collisions.
5. Not included in the 61 vessels dealt with above there were 34 launches more or less damaged. 11 of these were sunk but 4 of them have already been and 2 others will probably be raised.
